Abstract


Patient specific models are essential for robot assisted surgery in order to plan the application in advance or optimize the process. In general one can distinguish three interaction methods in surgical robotics: autonomous, semi-autonomous and telemaniupulated. The necessity and relevance of patient specific models are discussed for these three categories and presented in example applications.
