Rebecca Berthold is an International Visiting Graduate Student from Germany and a member of the Continuum Robotics Laboratory (CRL). As a Ph.D. Student in Mechanical Engineering, she is part of the institute of dynamics and vibration research at Leibniz University of Hanover. Her research interests are soft robotics and contact mechanics of elastomers.

Before coming to University of Toronto as an international student in January 2023, Rebecca worked as a research assistant at IDS for three years. She finished her Master of Science at Leibniz University of Hanover in 2020. Her Master Thesis focused on finite element simulation and material behavior of soft pneumatic actuators.
