Tongjia Zheng

Tongjia Zheng joined CRL as a postdoctoral fellow in June 2024. His research is driven by the challenge of scalability in controlling advanced robotic systems. Currently, he focuses on developing the theoretical foundation for designing and controlling continuum robots by leveraging continuum mechanics, geometric mechanics, and the control theory of partial differential equations.

Tongjia earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2024 with the department's Research Excellence Award. He also obtained a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Mathematics from the same university in 2023. Before that, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Automation in 2015 and a Master's degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering in 2017 from the South China University of Technology.
