Visit of our Alumni Julia Starke
We welcomed Julia Starke @CRL today, Ph.D. candidate at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany in our befriended laboratory High Performance Humanoid Technologies Lab (H2T) headed by Professor Tamim Asfour. Julia received her M.Sc. in Mechatronics in 2016 at Leibniz University Hannover. Her thesis on the merits of variable tendon routing in continuum robots was supervised by Jessica.
For her Ph.D. Julia switched gears from continuum robotics to humanoid hands for prosthetics. Today, she gave a seminar on the current state of her research entitled The Process of Grasping – From Human to Humanoid Hands. We were excited to learn about prosthetic hands restoring missing human capabilities.
Great work Julia! We look forward to see how your research unfolds!
