We are beyond happy that Priyanka Rao is joining CRL as a Ph.D. Student in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering! Priyanka received her dual degree B.Tech./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras this year.
Fun fact: Priyanka has been an international visiting student at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany in the summer of 2017 and found her passion for continuum robots in our parent Laboratory for Continuum Robotics. Back then, she worked on image-based sensing of concentric tube continuum robots. Back in India, Priyanka wanted to continue her research on continuum robots and decided to do her master’s thesis under co-supervision of Professor Burgner-Kahrs at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. In her master’s thesis she focussed on tendon-actuated continuum robots for visual inspection tasks and developed a design optimization method.
We are looking forward to Priyanka’s research @CRL! Welcome!
